Usher Celtic’s amazing season was reflected come AUL awards time.
The Premier A Champions registered a clean sweep in terms of the ‘main awards’ at function on June 18.
Stephen Donnelly, who this week signed for Gelnavon, picked up two personal accolades. The front man who hit 44 goals in all competitions in a season were Usher won a league and cup double picked up the Golden Boot Award.
Donnelly was also deemed the best player in the league for the 2017/18 and was awarded the AUL Player of the Year trinket.
While Donnelly impressed at the top end of the pitch another Usher player was impressive at the other end.
Graham Murphy picked up the Golden Glove award handed out to the keeper with the most clean sheets over the campaign.
The awards didn’t stop there Usher’s manager was also rewarded for being the first manager in seven season to stop Sheriff from winning the title.
Wesley Doyle picked up the Manager of the Year Award at a ceremony that also saw all the League and Cup winners pick up their trophies.
In a nice touch from the AUL they presented former Sheriff management duo Alan Reilly and Chris Giles with a special award to make their sensational achievements during their seven year stint in the league.
The management team won over 30 competition in their seven season in charge including FAI Junior Cups and six league titles in a row and some argue they produced the best ever Junior team the country has seen.
