LSL Senior Sunday
Bluebell United showed the full array of their fire power with yet another home win on Sunday.
The title hopefuls had five different scorers as they put six past Drumcondra in a one sided Senior Sunday clash.
The win which moves them to third was their fourth successive home league victory and they have managed 16 goals in those four ties.
Drums have been struggling for form this season with just one league win to their name to date and from the off it looked like they were in for a long 90 minutes.
After 10 minutes of pressure and a disallowed Tony Griffiths goal top scorer Shane Stritch broke the deadlock with a smart finish.
The post kept Drums within one soon after as Gary Seery’s right wing raid and cross almost lead to a second. On 22 minutes that second did arrive as Griffith’s finished from 20 yards to put the hosts in the driving seat.
Dean Ebbe then trebled the advantage before the break to give the hosts a comfortable cushion at half time.
The second half followed a similar pattern with ‘Bell dominating and scoring another three.
Former Eastwall and Sheriff defender Jeff Flood headed home to make it four, before Ebbe used his noggin to get his second and his sides fifth.
Aaron Robinson then got Bluebell’s last of the day with his first for the club.
Bluebell are now eight points off Killester and top spot with three games in hand, while Drums remain in the bottom three but are just three points off safety in what is proving to be another extremely competitive LSL Intermediate top flight.
