FAI Junior Cup
Stephen Murphy hit a hat trick as the champions Sheriff got the defence of their title off to an impress start on Friday night.
The man the call ‘Bones’ rattled home three for the two in a row winners as they made light work of Corduff FC.
However, Murphy wasn’t the only player in goal scoring form as Alan Reilly’s men accumulated seven goals as they sauntered along the Road to the Aviva.
Murphy opened the scoring in the first half, but Corduff managed to level things up with a strike of their own.
The midfielder restored his sides two goal cushion with a neat finish.
Top scorer and the weekend’s Leinster Junior Cup hat trick hero John Rock then came off the bench to extend the advantage to two, before a quick fire Kieth Rickard double put the result beyond doubt.
Rock then made it 10 goals in eight games this season as he register his second and his sides sixth.
Stephen Murphy rounded a fine personal and team display by extending the advantage further when he scored his third.
