Mullingar manager David Maher took time to praise Eoin Lanigan for his goal haul this week, but another veteran Clondalkin front man managed by Maher’s brother Ian that was honoured by the Leinster Senior League.
Former Cherry Orchard hit man Philip Sheppard was crowned the LSL’s Junior Player of the Year at the Red Cow on Friday night.
The former Monaghan Town player has been nothing short of sensational in front of goal for Booth Road this season.
Although he boasted a strong support cast ‘Sheppy’ was chief goal getter as the Clondalkin side’s Saturday won a treble this term.
The banked the league in the final LSL game of the season and claimed the Lummy O’Reilly and the prestigious Noel Ryan Cup in the weeks previous.
Sheppard scored in both finals and on the final day league win too.
