Home Farm were given a helping hand by one Bradley Hand as they avoided a potential banana skin in the Metropolitan Cup on Friday night.
Lucan United were billed as a side with upset potential going in to the cup clash, but a Hand double ensured their was no Farm slip up.
Indeed, the hosts put in a five star performance in front of goal to ensure progression to the next round.
Hand opened the scoring before 15 minutes past. A cleanly hit Christy Doran half volley found then found it’s way into the top corner from 25 yards out to ensure a two goal half time cushion for the Senior 1 Sunday side.
Ten minutes into the second half and Home Farm trebled the advantage as Sean Goulding headed home. Lucan did threaten to make things interesting soon after as they pulled one back, but a red card for Crumlin United legend James Lee quashed any comeback hopes.
Hand then put the result beyond doubt with a lovely finish from 18 yards before Matthew Mcentee mimicked that effort to add some gloss to the score line.
