LSL Senior Sunady
Big John Borphy produced the games ‘big’ moment as Killester made it two wins from two in Senior Sunday on Sunday morning.
The front man struck a second half winner as Killester won the battle of the red and blacks to continue an impressive start.
The home side opened the scoring on 28 minutes when Sean Rodgers was first to react after Reece Weldon’s effort was saved. The midfielder pounced on the rebound and broke the dead lock.
Malahide, who have performed admirably so far this season, responded well, but never really looked like securing an equaliser before the break.
However, they were level within three minutes of the restart. Adam McCormac was penalised for a foul in the area and Darren Craven tucked home from 12 yards to restore parity and score for the third game on the trot.
Killester took control for the remainder of the half and final got due reward when Brophy fired home a brilliant Darren Kavanagh cross.
Killester now have six points from six, while Malahide have three from nine despite three relatively impressive displays.
