Limerick District League
A hat trick from Eoin Burchill helped previously struggling Kilmallock to an eye catching one sided win over Carew Park on Sunday.
Up and until Sunday Kilmallock had yet to register a league win and flirting with the relegation zone, but they hit seven goals away from home to move closer to the top half of the table.
It’s another massive blow for Carew, who are recent league champions and were deemed a good outside bet for a title push last term.
The result means Carew continue to prop up the table without a victory this season and with just three goals to their name in seven league outings.
However at just six points off ninth the Limerick side will be hopeful a change in form may keep them within touching distance of safety going into the new year.
While Burchill filled his boots with a treble Ben Quirke, with a brace, Barry Sheedy and Kieran Stubbins were also on the score sheet.
