FAI Junior Cup
Rivervalley Rangers 6
It’s not quite the Champions League or CR7, but the man they call CB9 hit a double as Rivervalley had a relatively easy FAI Junior Cup win.
New signing Burke made it four goals in two games for the Premier B side as Rangers progressed to the third round of the prestigous contest.
The Swords side put six past Brendans as the took a step closer to a possible Aviva final.
Burke started on fire in what was his first start for the club. The front man first tucked hom Paul Gavin’s right win cross and then turned home Jimmy Rock’s left wing centre to put his side clear early on.
The impressive Ruairi Deasy made it three for the home side smashing in from a tight angle just before half time.
It was four soon after the turn and RVR were able to make a host of changes. The goals continued to flow however as Paul Gavin finished off a move he started.
Jack Hargan then latched onto a beautifully weighted Derek O’Brien pass to brush of the defender and finish.
