Dublin Bus drove into the next round of the Metro Cup as they got their defence off to a perfect start on Sunday.
The holders travelled to Broadford Rovers and registered a comfortable victory to continue their winning run in the contest.
Jack Brady opened the scoring for the champions when he rounded the keeper having latched onto Gar Kennas pass which split the defence.
The game was back and forth with not many chances from that point on until midway through the second half when John Cleary headed against the post.
Wayne Byrne finally gave The Bus some breathing space when he headed home from a corner, firing high into the net.
The game was sealed with 10 remaining when Owen Devereux slid in Gar Kenna. Kenna’s touch when taking it around the keeper was heavy sending him wide, but he did will to pull it back for Devereux to slot it in.
