FAI Junior Cup
Clonmel Town 5
Clonmel Town cashed in against Moneygall to qualify for the FAI Junior Cup Open Draw on Sunday.
Town put five past the NTDL side at home to join nearby rivals Clonmel Celtic in the last 64.
The hosts got off to a bright start and were a goal up early on. Town opened the scoring when Keith Cashman fired home a Cillian Crowe cut back.
20 minutes later and Town were two to the good this time Stephen Kelly pounced on a rebound to finish.
Clonmel added to that advantage before the break when Keith Brown added his name to the score sheet scoring come corner time.
After the turn the hosts put two feet into the next round and took a big step along the Road to the Aviva.
First Ahearne made it four before Brown got his second and his sides fifth as Clonmel progressed with ease.
