LSL Senior Sunday
Firhouse Clover became the first side to prevent Malahide United from scoring this season and the first to beat them in Gannon Park in the new campaign.
Both sides went into the clash smarting from 5-1 reverses over the weekend, but it was Clover who eased the pain with an impressive away day.
Two goals in the first half were enough to secure the Tallaght side their third win in five games and move them up to fifth at this early stage.
Firhouse got the job done in the first half.
Connor Byrne opened the scoring after 10 minutes when the central midfielder pounced on a rebounded Darren Forsyth shot to break the deadlock.
That goal looked like it would separate the sides going into the break but Ryan Coombes hit the killer blow right on the stroke of half time.
Those two efforts were enough to see Clover return to winning ways after a run of two defeats, while Malahide are now two wins from six clashes.
