They made the first official signing of the season when they brought in attacker Stephen Kinch late last week, now Firhouse Clover have made a signing that will still be deemed one of the biggest of the window when it shuts later in the Summer.
The Tallaght side made a serious statement of intent by signing Ryan Coombes from Bluebell United.
Coombes was top scorer for Cherry Orchard last season despite the fact he traded Elmdale for the Red Cow in January and is the type of player that would add serious attacking nous and goal threat to any attack.
The front man, who was watched by Southend this season, has League of Ireland experience having played for Bray Wanderers, Athlone and St Patricks Athletic before signing for St Francis.
Coombes was then key as Cherry Orchard returned to the summit and Senior Sunday before being one of their standout players in the first half of last season.
A surprise move to Bluebell followed, but the front man wasn’t a regular starter at the Red Cow.
Firhouse have now confirmed his signature and he looks set to lead their line next term. Having left all their business to the last minute last term the IT Tallaght based outfit are now getting things done early and claim more new faces are set to come through the door over the coming weeks.
