Everton AFC are looking forward rather than back as they reach 60 years old.
The Munster Senior League outfit will celebrate the milestone, but are not keen to be too nostalgic.
The Cork side prefer to look forward to the next 60 years and what can be achieved and they have a called for all those associated with the club to help them achieve their goals.
Everton are in need of numbers for their growing player base, particularly at underage level and have called for parents, ex players, current players and people from the locality to get involved in the coaching set up.
The club released the following plea to the JSP this week.
“This year 2018, Everton AFC celebrates the remarkable of feet of 60 years in existence (1958-2018). This is a milestone that we are extremely proud of.
We are not going to rest on our laurels as we want to ensure that we are in existence for another 60 at least! Everton cater from kids from the ages of 4 up to our Senior Team.
As numbers continue to grow we need the help of Parents, past/current players or indeed any individual with an interest in football to get involved. Coaching is hugely rewarding and Everton will also help you along the coaching path. All new Everton coaches will be placed on the FAI Coaching Ladder with the club progressing all coaches through PDP1 + PDP2 (Previously Kick Start 1 + 2)
Club coaches also get to attend the FAI Safeguarding course and will be also Garda Vetted. Next season which commences in Late August Everton want to ensure that all our Schoolboy teams are coached in line with the FAI development plan. We also have ambitious plans to drive the “Denis Irwin Football Academy” on again ensuring that we have teams participating at all levels and again grow numbers.
To do that we need help! As the great saying goes “Many hands Make Light Work” If you would be interested in getting involved with our fantastic club please contact club Chairman Stephen Crowley on 0863518985 or contact us through Twitter/Facebook or email.”
