Fagan picks a pocket or two as Hardwicke progress in the Nivea Cup
AUL Nivea Cup
Hardwicke seems to be a hot bed for young talent at present. Jordan O’Reilly has grabbed the headlines for the League winning Under 19 side as well as the Saturday side, but he is not the only teen impressing for the club.
19 year old Aaron Fagan produced two goals and an assist on Tuesday night as Premier A outfit broke down a resilient McKelvey to progress in the xx cup.
McKelvey looked solid from the off and were hard to break down from the off. While Hardwicke had a lot of the ball they found it hard to create openings.
Indeed, a Gareth Kilkenny effort which flew over the bar was the closest the came in the early exchanges. However, with a superior amount of the ball chances and goals were always going to come.
Fagan eventually broke the deadlock when tapped home a low inviting cross from close range and within five minutes Hardwicke were two up.
This time Fagan was the creator crossing for Troy Owens to finish. Hardwicke took that lead into the break and on the hour mark Fagan put the icing on the cake in style.
The 19 year old let fly from distance and found the top corner to round off a Man of the Match in style.
