There is the fan’s watching from up a tree, those who have found their way onto a stadium roof, the wall watchers, even those who have good vantage points from apartments beside stadiums.
However, amateur football has thrown up something different and certainly new when it comes to places to take into a game.
If ground level isn’t your thing and you like the from the stands view 99.9 percent of the time in amateur football your left disappointed.
Stands, sheds even raised steps are a rarity around Irish grounds, but these fans in Carlow were determined to get a birds eye view of a local derby.
Fans of Nurney FC took to skies to watch their B side take on local rivals Vale Wanderers from a unique vantage point in a Division 3 clash in Carlow. The didn’t quite get to see their side make hay as the tie ended a score draw.
