A last ditch Rory Morrissey strike secured dramatic victory for St Marys’ in their MSL season opener.
The Saints powered into a two goal lead thanks to goals from two debutantes before Douglas Hall’s set piece maestro pulled them level.
The game looked destined for a draw, but Morrissey ensure their was one more twist to the entertaining tail and popped up with late late winner.
Wayne Doherty opened the scoring for the hosts before his fellow debutante Chris Butt extended the advantage before the turn.
An action packed five minutes late in the second half saw ‘Hall get back into the game. Mark Murphy converted free kicks on 75 and 80 minutes to level proceedings.
Just when the tie looked destined to end all square Morrissey popped up with a late winner, finding the back of the net in the 93 minute to secure three points for Marys.
