Munster Champions Cup
Recent Irish amateur International Eoin Hayes was on the double as Newmarket Celtic progressed in the Munster Champions Cup over the weekend.
Celtic won a Clare Cork battle to keep alive their hopes of proving they are the best junior side in Munster.
The hosts got off to a bright start and went ahead on 20 minutes.
Eoin Hayes was felled in the box, dusted himself and placed the ball on the spot before placing it in the back of the net.
Two minutes before the break the experienced and regular goal getter was finding the net, Hayes scored three minutes shy of the break to give his side a cushion going into the second half.
Just three minutes after the restart and the Clare District League champions were all but sure of a place in the next round.
Eoin O’Brien made irrelevant the visiting half time team talk on 49 minutes as he put some daylight between the two sets of champions.
