FAI Intermediate Cup
Jake Donnelly was the hat trick hero as Crumlin United progressed to the open draw of the FAI Intermediate Cup.
On a weekend that saw reigning champion’s Liffey Wanderers and joint favourites Bluebell United exit the tournament a Donnelly inspired Crumlin reached round three with relative ease.
Crumlin stepped over potential banana skin to continue along the ‘Road to the Aviva’ defeating Leicester Celtic away from home.
Donnelly was inspired on the day and hit an eye catching hat trick to further cement suggestions he has the ability to be one of the best front men in the amateur game.
Another exciting attacker also found his way onto the score sheet. Leon Foley, who is following a path laid out by two time FAI Intermediate Cup winner and recent Coventry trialist Greg Moorhouse, has been in sensational form for the Saturday side this season.
Now having made the step up to the Sunday side the 19 year old striker made it goals in back to back games for Martin Loughran’s first team.
Crumlin, who have a real gra for this contest, will now await the open draw to see which team from around the country they will be pitted against.
