LSL Senior Sunday
St Patrick’s CY-2
It was a case of job Dunne for St Patrick’s CY on Thursday night.
Goals from the side’s two Dunnes ensure a victory over Bangor Celtic at the Iveagh League Grounds.
The win was CY’s third on the bounce and see’s them move as high as third in the table.
The Ringsend side are now level on 19 on points with Bluebell United although they have played two games more, while the reverse leaves Bangor two points off the drop zone but just six off sixth and last seasons champions Srt Mochtas in a tight top flight.
As has been par for the course this season Bangor performed well in patches, but failed to bank a result. The first hour was competitive and the game hung in the balance.
However, Thomas Dunne, who returned to the club after winning back to back FAI Junior Cups with Sheriff YC this Summer, finished well on the hour to give the visitors the lead.
Bangor were still in result contention, but a 94 minute injury time strike from big man Kevin Dunne ensured the result for CY.
