There were a host of stand out performers in what was another exciting installment of the Leinster Junior Cup last season.
With over a hole province of teams entered it’s always hard to narrow it down to one, but while we are not over looking the achievements of players across the board we have picked the player we felt impressed most in this years LJC.
Darren Clarke really produced when it mattered most in the cup contest and as a result as been given the nod for . The wide man, who was greatly involved in Collinstown’s success on all fronts this year, saved two of his best performances for both the semi and final of the Leinster Junior Cup.
Clarke was in full swing against Navan Cosmos in the semi final and was entertainingly destructive as Collinstown progressed to the final.
The direct was the star against Cosmos and played a role in all four of the Clondalkin sides goals. Three brilliant assists and a goal ensured Clarke won the Man of the Match gong a feat he managed in a famous final win over Sheriff.
Clarke’s pace and attacking mindset got bums off seats at Tolka Park as he excelled in the open spaces seemed to suit him.
He didn’t quite dominate in the same manner of the semi final, but was awarded Man of the Match as Collinstown beat FAI Junior Cup champions and pre game Sheriff.
Clarke did manage an assist, but it was his all round performance that impressed and earned him the gong.
