AUL Premier A
Kilmore Celtic 3
Raheny United 1
Paul McMillian hit a hat trick as Kilmore Celtic moved up to third in Premier A.
Celtic’s talisman continued his impressive start to the season, the recent Irish amateur cap bagging a treble as Kilmore bounced back from their first league defeat of the season with a win over fellow promoted side Raheny.
The midfielders treble moves Kilmore into third behind leaders Sheriff and second place Usher Celtic.
Raheny actually started the game the stronger, but the home side took the lead on 20 minutes. Mark Lynch split the defence allowing McMillan to slot home.
10 minutes later and Kilmore were two goals to the good. This time Jay Cobbe with the assist as his good work down the left allowed McMillan to make it two, a lead they took into the break.
Raheny came out with a real purpose after the break, but Kilmore managed to keep them a bay and eventually put the game to bed on the break.
Around the 70 minute mark Shane Burke picked up possession before hitting a 30 yard pass for McMillan to chase, the clubs top scorer out paced the defender and rounded of his hat trick.
In fairness to Raheny they kept pushing and did manage a consolation strike, but it was Kilmore who banked the three points to maintain a positive start to their first ever Premier A season.
