FAI Junior Cup:
Tralee Dynamos struck Clare outfit Tulla United for eight as they progressed to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup in style over the weekend.
Danny Roche hit a brace while Jonathan Hannafin , James Wall, Eoin Cassidy , Damien Diggins and Shane Guthrie all got on the score sheet as the dynamic Dynamo’s cantered into the second round.
It was no were near as comfortable for Spa Road as a double from Brendan Sweeney saw them over come fellow Premier A side Listowel Celtic.
However, Celtic, who pulled one back via Bryan Murphy wasted numerous chance and left the competition thinking what have been.
It was cup and derby delight for Killarney Athletic as they travelled to Mastergeeha and came away with a 2-1 and a place in round two of the prestigous cup.
Athletic took the lead via Marcin Drowzy, but it was level two minutes later thanks to Padraig Nagle finish. Jason O’ Grady then popped up to score the winner on the stroke of half time as see Athletic move on.
Castleisland move into the second round after a first minute free kick from in form Sean Brosnan.
Brennan’s fourth goal in as many games was enough to see of a newly formed and brave Mitchells Avenue outfit.
There was a lot more goal mouth action as St Brendans Park won a seven goal thriller against Dingle Bay Rovers .
The Park were three up after only 17 minutes but Dingle battled back bravely to within one but found an equaliser beyond them. The Parks goals came from David Conway, Antony Murphy, David Courtney and Mike Conway, while Sean Connor- with a brace- and Gareth Brosnan shared Dingle’s three.
Classic Fc exited the tournament after suffering penalty shoot-out defeat to Desmon League side Newcastlewest .
Richie Kelliher got Classic’s only goal, but it finished all level after 110 minutes. Newcastlewest won the Shoot out 5-4 after Classic’s Antony McAuliffe missed the first penalty and all nine of the proceeding efforts were scored.
The only other Kerry team involved in the competition were Fenit, who received a walk over against RockHill Rovers from the Desmond League .
