FAI Junior Cup
Killarney Celtic set up an interesting FAI Junior Cup fourth round clash with Newmarket Celtic B with a routine win over Moher Celtic over the weekend.
Last seasons runners up in Kerry eased past Moher in the rescheduled third round encounter and could have won by a wider margin but for some visiting goal keeper heroics.
Peter McCarthy opened the scoring with a great finish at the near post after great work by Danny Roche down the wing.
Just before the half Moher keeper made a full length dive to save from Wayne Sparling but Gary Keane was there to finish from close range to give Celtic a two goal lead at half time.
The second half saw Danny Roche move up front and he was to score two goals in quick succession.
Celtic looked very comfortable on the ball throughout and while they made several changes early in the half the intensity didn’t change with young guns Stephen McCarthy and Lee Downing taking their opportunity to impress, although both will feel the should have found the net.
Celtic face a fourth round clash with a Newmarket Celtic B that is said to have talent throughout next Sunday.
