LSL Senior Sunday
Killester Donnycarney drove out of Newbridge on Thursday night with the maximum points in the bag thanks to a second half winner against a Kildare side who have yet to register a single goal in this campaign.
In an uneventful first half where both sides had no real chances to speak of it was the Dubliners who came out stronger in the second half and with much more intent. Flashing one chance over the bar and then heading just wide from a corner it seemed only a matter of time before they would unlock the Newbridge defence and on 71 minutes it happened.
Terry McAuley crossed in and the flick on found John Clancy who finished with aplomb into the roof of the home sides net. Newbridge had their keeper to thank a few moments later when denying Lennie McMillan before Killester Donnycarney had another ruled out for offside in the remaining few minutes.
The result moves the Dublin side up the table to sixth while Newbridge are rooted firmly to the bottom and will hope they can find their scoring boots soon to avoid being stuck down there for the rest of the season.
