FAI Junior Cup
Kippure Park FC-3
Kippure secured local bragging rights and a place in the fourth round of the FAI Junior Cup winning a five goal derby on Sunday.
The hosts, who beat McKelvey in last season’s Regency Cup final, claimed won the big Finglas derby by the odd goal in five to set up a fourth round clash with Newfoundland FC or Athboy Celtic.
Kippure opened the scoring on 20 minutes when Robbie Monahan found the back of the net.
The home were on top, but were pegged back by half time as Jordan Kavanagh fired him on 35 minutes.
Barry McGowan put the home side ahead in a tense derby on the hour mark, before Eoin Sweeney extended the advantage to two 15 minutes later.
The visitors pulled on back from the spot just three minutes later as Stephen Harte put the minimum between the sides.
That strike set up a dramatic and tense finale, but Kippure made it two back to back big cup wins over the near by rivals to take a step along the Road to the Aviva.
