LSL Senior Sunday
Bangor Celtic -0
What a difference a week makes especially in the ultra competitive LSL top flight.
Last Friday Leixlip looked in serious trouble, bottom of the table with a single point from their opening six games.
Seven days and two games later and they are only goal difference away from safety.
The Kildare side followed up their first win of the season, an impressive victory over Firhouse Clover, with another win, this time beating Bangor Celtic at home.
With the wind in their sails for the opening 45 minutes Bangor created the better of the first half chances. However some good keeping from Conor Farrell and some solid defending helped the hosts go into the break still level.
Bangor continued to dominate after the turn and had two good chances to break the deadlock only to be denied by Farrell yet again.
The visitors were punished late on as Leixlip snatched a late winner that could prove vital in the terms of their season.
A break away move eventually ended with full back Paul Concannon crossing into the danger area. The centre was cleared but only as far as Mark Scanlon and he drove low and hard to give his side a lead.
Bangor pushed for a leveler but the hosts shut up shop and made it six points from their last two games.
