Aisling Annacotty- 1
Keith Mawdsley showed Aisling Annacotty just what they lost as he found the net for new club Janesboro and played a key role in a hard fought win.
The young striker scored his 20th goal of the season to secure all three points for the Boro, sending the Munster Champions Cup finalists seven points clear at the top of the table.
Aisling, who beat Boro in a cup final last year, were up for the clash, but the old and the new of Limerick’s lethal scorers found the net and prevented them from securing a result.
The hosts dominated the opening 15 minutes and had enough possession to open up a lead.
Japanese attacker Sosike Kimura hit the side netting, Jason Lipper came close and Damien Collins headed wide. The hosts also saw an effort chalked off for offside.
Aisling did manage to take a deserved lead when a Barry Holland pounced on the rebound after Collins corner was headed onto the post.
Boro responded to going down and were level when all time top scorer Shane Clarke curled home effortlessly from outside the area.
The sides went in level at the break, but the champions latest goal sensation ensure Boro victory with a second half winner.
The striker fired home from 25 yards low into the corner benefiting from some high Michael Rayn and Aaron Nunan high pressing.
That strike was enough to give the visitors all three points and they now look destined for the top of the tree come Christmas time.
