The somewhat nomadic goal scorer that is Stephen Kinch has returned ‘home’.
The former St John Bosco, Crumlin United and Lucan United player was close to retiring at the end of a disappointing season.
However, ‘Hoppy’ has been persuaded to play on and will return to Inchicore Athletic and LSL Senior 1A next term.
Kinch has Senior Sunday title winning experience with Crumlin United, but having scored 28 goals for St John Bosco three seasons ago ended up at Inchicore where he scored 19 goals in 15 games as Athletic secured promotion to Senior Sunday 1A. A brief Summer with Crumlin followed as did a stint with ambitious Lucan United, but a leg break in FAI Intermediate Cup action put paid to his season and the goal getter seriously considered retiring.
However, it seems the lure of Inchicore proved too big for Kinch and he returns home to fill a duel role next season.
Kinch has signed for the first team and will also manage the Saturday side alongside Alan Bolton, with current Bray Wanderers player Craig Walsh also said to be supplementing the coaching staff.
In even better news for Inchicore Athletic they look set to secure their own pitch from October on and should have an Astro they can call home.
