Doddervale/Orwell United have secured promotion before the season has even started.
The club who play out of the Postal Club in Tallaght were this week informed by the Leinster Senior League that they have been moved up a division just weeks into the Summer break.
United finished fifth in Major Sunday 1 five points off promotion in a strong division that recent AUL defectors Aryfield, Trinty Donaghmede and Castleknock excelled in.
Doddervale were in promotion and even title pole at Christmas and as a result were somewhat disappointed to miss out on promotion.
However, they have managed to secure it in a round about way over the Summer and are now a Major Sunday outfit and just one promotion away from Intermediate football.

Speaking at the end of the season manager Shane Gutkin revealed he felt his side had proven themselves a threat in a competitive division and will be hopeful they can do the same one tier higher next season.
“The league was was tough this year.
“I’m around the Leinster Senior League a long time, and, for Major 1 Sunday, it was very strong because of the likes of Ayrfield and Trinity Donaghmede.
“If they hadn’t come over, I think we’d have had a good chance of winning it, but the league table never lies.
“We’ve made progressions, but there were some very good football sides in the league.
“We’ve proven to ourselves and everybody else we can compete with the top sides in this league, so we’re optimistic.”
