Some might make the Liverpool Southampton comparison after Bluebell United have signed another player from Sacred Heart.
However, the bottom line is the Red Cow side have acquired the services of another former League of Ireland player.
He might not be as high profile as Keith Fahey or some of the names rumoured to be coming through the Red Cow gates, but Gareth Coughlan is one of those mercurial talents that has been a fan favourite at most clubs he has been at.
The winger player, whose career was stalled by a serious leg break, played on Killinarden Hill between spells for Bray Wanderers, St Patricks Athletic, Dundalk and Shels.
Last season he returned to Tallaght and the amateur game joining what looked like a Sacred Heart revival, but things didn’t go well for a club much fancied to get out of Senior 1A.
The winger, who may play more central for ‘Bell, has Senior Sunday previous and played alongside the likes of recent Bluebell crest wearers Sean Byrne, Karl Russell and Sodiq Oguntol in Tallaght. Indeed in a top flight campaign that wasn’t as successful as most hoped Coughlan was the clubs stand out player and scored some goal of the season contenders.
