Greystones United have have confirmed the transfer of the window to date.
The LSL Senior Sunday outfit have signed one of the best players ever to grace an amateur pitch after they won the race for John Lesters signature.
The midfielder ended a medal laden spell at Sheriff YC at the end of last season, with travel being put forward as the reason behind his departure.
The arrest of his time at Sheriff didn’t mean retirement for the talented midfielder, however, and he will now swap the green and white of the all conquering Inner City side for the green and white of Wicklow outfit Greystones.
Over six years at Sheriff Lester managed to pick up 25 trophies including six league titles and four FAI Junior Cups.
The former League of Ireland player now joins Greystones and could be part of a midfield three that includes player manager Gary Dempsey as well as Karl Manahan.
‘Stones like the season before need a late rally to ensure survival at the end of the 2016/17 season, but were better value for the eventual finish.
With the addition of Lester and more signings in the pipeline they will be hoping at the very least to be pushing for a top half finish.
The move also gives Lester a chance to make a mark at LSL and Intermediate level after he established himself as one of the best Junior players in the country at Sheriff.
