Ben Quinn was the hat trick hero as the DDSL defeated the KDUL to retain the prestigious Kennedy Cup in Limerick on Friday.
Quinn, who plays his club football for Cherry Orchard, found the net three times as the reigning champions came back from a goal down to claim their 32nd Kennedy Cup title.
Aleksander Vassenin opened the scoring and nudged the Kildare youngsters ahead.
However, Quinn leveled proceedings before Evan Ferguson put the DDSL in front before the break.
The reigning champions held the single goal advantage until midway through the half when Quinn gave them some breathing space with his second of the game.
Regular goal KDUL net finder Owens then reignited the KDUL’s chances with his fifth goal of the competition putting his side within one in the process.
Quinn then made sure there wouldn’t be a tense finish to the tie with his third of the game.
