Greg Moorhouse is not one for publicity, but knows the mini hype surrounding his trail with Coventry City could benefit him in the long run regardless.
The 23 year old is currently in Spain on pre season tour with the League Two side and his hoping to impress his way onto the Sky Blues books.
He impressed enough in training to secure a slot on the tour and will now set about impressing the manager further in a bid to earn a contract.
The striker signed for Glenavon from Crumlin United last season and scored 10 goals in 24 league games in the Irish League. A chance to impress Coventry followed, but at first the two time FAI Intermediate Cup winner didn’t want anyone to know he was heading to the English club.
However, upon reflection he believes the spreading of the word may open new doors if things don’t work out at Coventry.
Moorhouse told SunSport: “Coming over, I didn’t really want anyone knowing about it in case it didn’t work out.
“I didn’t want to have to deal with people asking me about it.
“But on the first day of training, pictures went up on the club’s website, people latched on to the unfamiliar face, figured out it was me and it got out on social media.
“Everyone seems to know about it now. I’ve had lovely messages in the last week and, although I hadn’t wanted people to know about it, it will help my reputation in the long run.
“If this door closes, it could open a few more.”
