Ringmahon Rangers have pulled off one of the signings of the season and have signed a player so exciting he was handed the ‘Maradona’ moniker.
The Basil Foley managed side have brought in talented winger Liam Kearney or a player that might be better known to some as the ‘The Conna Maradona’.
Kearney will certainly add flair to the Cork side, but also brings bags of experience having played cross channel, in the league of Ireland and for Ireland at underage level.
Kearney won the U19 FA Premier League at Nottingham Forrest before returning home to play for Cork City in 2003 and won seven under-21 caps while at the club.
A move to Shelbourne followed before the winger returned to Cork City. Spells with Derry City, Waterford United and even Dandenong Thunder SC in Australia followed.
The winger then had time in Avondale before John Caulfield brought him back to the LOI for a third spell with Cork.
Kearney now returns to the MSL top flight and looks sure to excite in the black and red of Ringmahon.
