LSL Saturday Premier
Beechill United -6
Dunard YC- 2
Beechill United bounced back from a night mare nine goal defeat at home to Rosemount Mulvey to defeat promotion hopefuls Dunard YC over the weekend.
The Saturday Premier outfit became only the second team to beat Dunard this season and banked three points in the kind of fashion that may suggest they can put their early season woes behind them.
The win the sides second of the season and second since Andrea Boccarossa and Derek Freeman see’s Beechill move three points and two places clear of the drop zone.
The Hill started strongly, quickly gaining control of the game and it wasn’t long before Spanish striker Edu ran onto an excellent through ball before finishing.
One quickly became two with fellow striker Vincent O’Brien getting in on the act. The constant pressure paid of again soon after with Paul McCarthy putting the hill three up.
Although Dunard got one back it was the home side that kicked on with goals two from centre back Steward MacMillan and Edu adding another.
A last minute consultation for Dunard wasn’t enough to ruin Beechill’s day.
