Sheriff win 4-3 on penalties.
Lee Murphy excelled in the spot light once again for Sheriff YC as they beat the old enemy on Sunday afternoon.
Murphy came out of retirement last Sunday and had a major impact repeating his old trick of saving penalties and scoring the winner from the spot as Sheriff survived a Gorey scare to progress in the Leinser Junior Cup.
The experienced keeper was at it again seven days later and was the hero as the reigning champions fought back from behind to eventually defeat Kilbarrack in the Liddy Cup.
Murphy who has plenty of big peno previous with United scored and saved a peno for the second week running to help his side through.
Killbarrack limited Sheriff to very few chances in the first half and managed to go into the turn ahead after Kevin Molloy found the net.
However, John Lester leveled matters after the turn around and when neither side could find a winner in extra time another cup contest between the pair went to penos.
Again Murphy was the hero as the keeper both made a save a hit a peno of his own.
