The latest amateur player to give the JSP his Best 11 is Mark Lynch.
Twin brother of Bray Wanderers full back Kevin is probably more noted for playing with East Wall Bessborough, but has had stints with Sheriff YC and played under age ball beside some very big names in a talented underage St Kevin’s side.
My Best #11 Mark Lynch :
Goalkeeper- Ryan Kinsella (st. Kevin’s): without a doubt the best goalkeeper I’ve ever played with. Even if the team were terrible he could win games on his own.
Three Centre Backs – Daniel Ennis,Mark O’Toole and Ger Carroll (Eastwall Bessborough): Three of the best defenders I’ve played alongside, they all gave everything they had when they got onto the pitch and didn’t lose many tackles or headers either.
LWB- Kevin Lynch (Sheriff YC): I am not not only picking Kevin because he’s my twin brother but this fella has the potential and ability to play at an even higher level after getting a move to Bray Wanderers last year. Quick, tricky and a silly left foot. Absolute nightmare to play against as well
RWB- Sean Young (Eastwall Bessborough): Sean might be deaf but that doesn’t affect his ability on the pitch, he has all the tricks in the book, pace to burn and didn’t mind striking the ball wen he got a chance.
Centre Midfield- Stephen ‘bones’ Murphy (Sheriff YC): I’ve been watching Bones for years now with Sheriff and last year I got to play a couple of games with him. He can read a game better than most and loves a set piece as well.
Centre Midfield- Jeff Hendrick (st. Kevin’s): From the age of seven you could see that Jeff was going to go a long way in football, definitely the best player I’ve ever played with and living up to his potential in the Premier League and with Ireland.
Centre Midfield- Robbie Brady (st. Kevin’s); Robbie is another player who you can’t not mention. He is playing in the Premier League with Jeff at Burnley and with Ireland. Toss up between him and Kevin for the best left foot I’ve ever seen.
Centre Forward- Keith Rickard (Eastwall Bessborough): One of the quickest players I’ve ever played with. When he turned up nobody could stop him, hopefully he gets back to his best soon.
Centre Forward: Jonner Rock (Sheriff YC) Jonner is another player I only played a couple of games with but his record speaks for itself. He is probably the best striker to ever play in the AUL.
Manager- Thomas Morgan
Honorary Mentions Steo Maguire (EWB) Luke Dillon (EWB) Sean Kelly (EWB) Anto Bolger (st. Kevin’s) Eoin Wearen (st. Kevin’s)
