A major brawl at a seven a side tournament, hosted by Kilberry based club Torro United, has seen a number of players handed down bans totaling 80 weeks by the NEFL disciplinary committee.
FAI Junior cup final referee Conor Byrne was allegedly hit with the ball in the aftermath of the clash which featured a series of melees, and saw both sides involved have players red carded.
Parkvilla striker Ryan Murphy suffered the heaviest punishment when he was banned for 12 months. The NEFL Oscar Traynor captain, from last season, Shaun Doyle of Kentstown Rovers received a six week suspension, Donal Callen of Navan Cosmos is banned for ten weeks, Navan Towns Karl Reilly is sidelined two months while a second Parkvilla player Jamie Blake got a four week ban.
All the players are entitled to appeal the committees decision to the Leinster Football Association
