They have in Shane Clarke the most feared striker in the league, but that hasn’t stopped Janesboro from adding to the their attacking options.
The Limerick District Premier League Champions have brought in young front man Keith Mawdsley from Aisling Annacotty during the week.
It’s a big move for the club and the young front man certainly gives The Boro a different option up top.
No one has scored as many goals as Clarke in Limerick or indeed in Junior football over the last few seasons- the Boro captain is the division’s top scorer year in year out more often than not finishing with 40 plus goals to his name.
However, some see Mawdsley as a potential successor. The striker has been a talisman for Aisling over the years and his form two seasons ago won him a move to Limerick FC.
The goal getter didn’t manage to break into the first team at the LOI side, but returned to Annacotty and enjoyed cup success last season.
Mawdsley now moves across the city to the champions and will certainly help them in their quest to retain the title and enjoy FAI Junior Cup success.
The Limerick top flight is currently topped by Boro, but it remains one of the more competitive Junior leagues in the country with only six points between first and sixth place.
