Nine man Bluebell share spoils with 10 man Orchard
LSL Senior Sunday
Cherry Orchard and Bluebell shared three cards, two goals and ultimately the spoils on Sunday morning.
Bell took a strange first half lead, but after being reduced to nine men were pegged back and neither side could find a late winner.
David Scully had the first and relatively only chance of a scrappy first half after just five minutes, but was denied one on one.
The remainder of the half was dull apart from a final minute of madness.
The visitors took the lead when the home net minder dropped the ball on Shane Stritch’s head and the ball bounced into the net.
Bluebell were a goal up, but a man down soon when Scully was given his marching orders after receiving a second yellow card.
The Red Cow side looked relatively comfortable despite being out numbered, but soon found themselves up against it when they were reduced to nine when Tony Keeler was sent off with about 30 minutes to go.
A neat little finish Daniel McGuinness then put The Orchard level and at that stage they looked odds on to go on and win the game.
However, Bluebell were never really troubled in the final stages and when the home side were reduced to 10 the game fizzled out.
