LSL Senior Sunday 1
Philly Nolan was Tolka Rovers match winning hero for the second time in a matter of days on Sunday.
After sealing a dramatic midweek a first win of the season for the side that suffered relegation last term during the week Nolan was again on hand to register the winner for Stephen Nolan’s charges.
This time Nolan’s winner came with 10 minutes to go against fellow relegated side UCD.
The sides couldn’t be separated and were level at 0-0 as the hour past, but within five minutes Tolka were a goal to the good.
Former Rivervalley Rangers and St Pauls Artane midfielder Karl ‘Meatball’ Young continued his impressive start to Tolka life with an eye catching opener.
Young collected the ball in the area before buying space by beating two defenders in close quarters and firing low past the keepers left hand.
UCD levelled straight from the restart and the Tolka faithful must have feared another draw was on the card, but Nolan ensured back to back wins for the first time this season when raced onto a through ball and finished.
