Not long after Robin Dempsey and Gary Delaney left Waterford by mutual consent they were signing for amateur side North End United.
The arrival of Paddy Barrett and Sean Heaney on loan from Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers respectively forced the duo’s hand and they elected to depart the LOI First Division side.
The pair now add further strength to an already strong North End United squad and add further League of Ireland experience to the Wexford league which has seen Courtown add former Wexford players in recent weeks.
Former Aston Villa youth Dempsey joined the Blues at the beginning of the 2017 season from North End United and made 11 appearances.
Delaney joined the Blues for a second time from relegated Wexford Youths at the start of the season but only made four appearances in his second stint at the club.
A club statement read: “Waterford FC would like to thank both Robin and Gary for their commitment and effort during their time with the club. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
The pair trained and signed for North End last night and are now in preparation for what looks like it will be a competitive league campaign in Wexford.
