The reigning champions of Limerick have moved to sign a promising young talent from what most deem their main rivals for the title.
Darragh Carroll has moved across the football mad city to sign for Janesboro from Pike Rovers.
It’s not the first time a player has made a move between the two clubs and won’t be the last but it is deemed a a big signing for an already strong ‘Boro squad.
Carroll wasn’t an ever present for Mike Shiels side last season, but is deemed a big prospect in Limerick.
The midfielder came on in the FAI Junior Cup final defeat to North End United for former Limerick FC player Wayne Colbert and also started at centre half alongside Pike legend Pa Mullins in the Munster Junior Cup final.
While Pike reached another FAI Junior Cup final last season it was rivals Janesboro who won the league- and did so in impressive fashion.
Boro went the season unbeaten and finished 13 points ahead of second place Pike in the race for the title.
However, Rovers are expected to push them closer in the forthcoming season.
