AUL top scorer Alan Ray’s hat trick completed a sensational comeback win for managerless Aryfield United on Sunday.
United lost their successful management due to work commitments, but picked up three points in moral boosting fashion over the weekend.
Trailing to title hopefuls Kilbarrack by two goals go to goal man Ray stepped up to the plate and hit a late hat trick, including a late late winner to secure his side the win.
The home side took the lead via big striker Kevin Dunne, who has filled a void left by the injuries of Eoin Fowler and Rory O’Connor, but Ciaran Ryan leveled before the break.
Eoin Mulligan then restored the Kilbarrack goal advantage before Dunne found the net again to put some day light between the sides.
However, just when it looked like the home side where on course to take all three points Ray went on a goal scoring blaze.
The striker hit a late treble to secure the win for Aryfield against the current league leaders.
