LSL Senior Sunday
Swords Celtic FC -2
Keith Reilly scored what could prove a crucial second half winner for Swords Celtic on Friday night.
The newly promoted side took on Firhouse Clover in a someone’s 0 has got to go contest of a different note and managed to claim their first win of the new season while leaving the Tallaght side still looking for their first three points.
Labeling it a relegation six pointer would be beyond dramatic, but Swords will be relieved to have got that first win while last years Intermediate finalists will be left desperate to get a win as soon as possible.
Swords got off to a flyer and within 60 seconds were a goal ahead thanks to an Andy Boylan finish.
The hosts held that lead up and until the break, but Firhouse, who drew with Crumlin United last time out responded after the turn.
Conor Maguire leveled proceedings and put the Tallaght side back into three point contention with a finish straight after the restart.
Reilly then hit what turned out to be the decisive goal with 30 minutes remaining as Swords withstood some late pressure to make it four points from their last two games.
