Rivervalley Rangers have been prompted back to Premier A before a ball has been kicked in the new season.
The Swords outfit’s first AUL top flight season didn’t go to play last term and they ended up finishing third from bottom and two points of safety.
As a result a season in the new look Premier B was on the cards.
However, the AUL have moved Gerry Coughlan’s side back in the Premier A after a meeting on Thursday night.
Rangers have benefited from the fact Eastwall Bessborough pulled out of the top flight with the AUL moving them in as a replacement rather than run with a nine team league.
It’s unsure whether or not the decision will have a knock on effect and teams from division below will be drafted up one place as a result.
