The Saints marched into the final of Munsters Champions League equivalent thanks to two late goals over the weekend.
Shannonside kept the TSDL Champions at bay for nigh on 80 minutes, but ultimately gave into the pressure on exited the competition at the final hurdle as St Michaels progressed.
Michael’s win now sets up a glamour final with Limerick District League Champions Janesboro.
The County Grounds Ennis hosted tie was stop start for the most part and condition meant there was not much flow to the first half.
David Slattery with probably the only real chance of note in the opening 45 when he headed wide.
The second half followed a similar pattern as both struggled to find rhythm in windy conditions and chances of note were few and far between as a result.
The visitors did look the more likely and Richic Ryan fired wide after a Slattery knock down and saw an attempted over head kick sail over the bar.
On 79 minutes the deadlock was finally broken as Ryan managed to divert a long Paul Breen free kick into the path of Ollie O’Driscoll who proceeded to finish well.
Shannonside had to come out in a bid to try and rescue the situation but found themselves trailing by two just three minutes later.
This time O’Driscoll was the provider, as he held up Shane Ryan pass before teeing up Slattery to finish from close range and seal the deal.
