Tolka Rovers have beaten some pro clubs and top amateur sides to the transfer of Shane Dolan.
They may have been relegated last term, but the club were still able to attract ‘Super Mario’ through the gates of Frank Cooke Park.
The well traveled and experienced goal getter boast an excellent footballing CV having turned out for a number of high-profile clubs such as Shelbourne, Ballymena United, Donegal Celtic, Carrick Rangers, Drogheda United and Athlone Town.
Last season, started the season at Crumlin United, having a half a term on fire for Firhouse Clover the season before, but moved back North and joined Portadown.
The talented front man was approached by Irish Leagues sides keen to keep him up North, but has decided to return to playing in Dublin.
There was plenty of interest in the amateur ranks with top AUL and LSL said to be expressing an interest, but Dolan has decided to sign for Tolka.
The striker’s decision may have been swayed by the fact Tolka are now managed by former Rivervalley Rangers Stephen Doran coached Dolan at Dundalk Under 21’s some years ago.
‘Mario’ will also be teaming up Mark O’Brien, Doran’s assistant, who he played with a Drogheda.
