It will be a case of new manager for Newbridge going into the new season.
Paul Perth has elected to step away from the Kildare side after three very successful years in charge.
The recent Irish International Masters Player of the Year managed back to back promotions in his first two seasons at the helm.
Perth then consolidated Town’s position as a top flight side last term, guiding them to a respectable Senior Sunday seventh place finish. Indeed, Newbridge finished just three points of FAI Intermediate Cup finalists Firhouse in fourth position.
The club reveal Perth has gone in search of a break and the split is amicable, but the search for a new manager begins.
The Newbridge Town committee released the following statement:
“Newbridge Town FC would like to thank Paul Perth, our first team manager, for his commitment, drive and ability over the past three years. Paul helped restore Newbridge Town to to the top level amateur football in Ireland, bringing crowds back to station road, bring silverware and give local fans and schoolboys and girls a real ambition and pathway to playing senior football.
Two successive promotions and stabilising the club in Leinster senior league senior division with a Metroplitan cup win is testament to his eye for a player, coaching ability of his back room and his overall class at running a team providing the town with a seat at the top table . . . and also competing.
Paul has decided to take a break; however, a well earned, thoroughly deserved break this year ahead and everyone at the club wish him all the best and success in his future and provide a warm, friendly handshake every time we meet or he visits us in the future.
The future is bright at Newbridge town thanks to Paul and his backroom team, the players and all the volunteer coaches and juvenile section and with that in mind the committee would welcome expressions of interest for the role of First team Manager/Coach in the Leinster Senior league senior division 2018/19: please contact Leo Dunne 0871235180
