Cashel Town – 0
St Michael’s AFC – 7
St Michaels got over their recent exit from the FAI Junior Cup at the hands of Newmarket Celtic with a seven goal rout of Cashel Town on Sunday.
The visitors, who are unbeaten in the league this season were on the front foot from the first whistle and and took the lead in the fourth minute when David Slattery crossed for David Grincell to fire home from close range.
Two minutes later they doubled their lead after a free kick into the Cashel area found Richie Ryan in the area, and he headed home.
With 18 on the clock it was three after a well worked individual effort by Grincell, and the fourth came soon after when Slattery scored a cracking from the left edge of the box.
Just before the break the game was over as a contest when Ryan picked out Padraig Fogarty who scored from close range.
Just a minute into the second stanza St Michaels picked up where they left off and Fogarty slotted home the rebound of a Jimmy Carr saved penalty.
The final goal of the seven came 10 minutes from time when Carr picked out Ryan Deere who flicked a header home and the whistle couldn’t come soon enough for the hosts.
